Fragmentation of IoT

Fragmentation and lack of interoperability is a major concern for IoT deployments and solutions. This discussion will be centered on practical deployments to integrate multiple transport systems and regions in the UK. We'll focus on oneTRANSPORT in relation to the following main topics:

• Real problems affecting deployment of IoT by authorities (Historical transport contracts; Mind-set for procurement of solutions; The current infrastructure; Societal impact of current infrastructure; Regional impact of the silo approach; Diminishing funding leading to lean processes; Different levels of understanding in authorities).
• Issues and practicalities of deploying a standardized IoT solution.
• Procurement, technical and commercial benefits from using oneM2M™, the open standard for IoT.
• Examples of IoT application leading to event management at different scales (Silverstone, Football club, everyday shopping).
